About me
I can’t remember a time in my life when I didn’t have a camera. My first camera was a Kodak Instamatic 100. I shot hundreds of (mainly black & white) pictures with it. While in high school, I bought my first 35mm camera, a Pentax K1000 and shot sporting events for the school newspaper. Throughout most of my life, as most people, the camera has been a means of documenting family history and events.
I have always participated or have been around sports my entire life. I played baseball, golf, wrestled, ran cross country, raced canoe and kayak marathons, played men’s softball, was a high school wrestling referee, raced stock outboard hydroplanes and the list goes on and on. Since having children, my role as participant has dwindled with now their participation in sports and activities. My role is now of spectator, cheering squad, coach, and proud parent.
As I have aged, special life moments — weddings, graduations, family portraits, your kids activities, etc. — have become more important to me, and through my photography services I want to help be a part of documenting these moments for others. When I dig out old photo albums, or sort through some boxes in the basement that contain some of my team and individual sports pictures, it immediately brings back great memories, and I am so happy my parents had those pictures taken of me.
I am a graduate of the University of Florida (Go Gators!) where I earned my B.S. in Engineering. When not behind the lens, editing images or spending time with my family, I’m developing software for radar defense systems. Yep, believe it or not, I hold a top secret security clearance.
